How is IndieWorks related to BAI?
IndieWorks is a division of Business Affairs, Inc., a California law corporation. We are the paraprofessional wing of the operation, and our work is conducted under the supervision of licensed California attorneys.

So you’re not attorneys? Can you explain?
The staff of IndieWorks is made up of solution-oriented and seasoned pros who have worked on hundreds of entertainment projects at all stages of development, and no, we’re not lawyers. We’re non-lawyers trained and supervised by lawyers so your production support services can be delivered to you at reasonable fixed costs.

How do your fees work?
IndieWorks offers a variety of à la carte or bundled options to our clients, depending on their needs. You can pick and choose specific services, or you can select one of our packages. Take a look at our price list--if you don’t see what you’re looking for, please let us know and we will figure something out. We aim to provide a high level of service with a high level of predictability as far as cost.

How would we get started?
Because IndieWorks is a division of a Califormia law firm, we are required to spell out in writing the services we will perform for the agreed-upon fees, how we would settle any dispute between us, and so on. Once we have your approval, we’ll get going.

Do you just work on motion pictures?
No, IndieWorks provides similar services for TV projects, webisodes, and other new media applications. While the formats may vary, many of the needs are basically the same across media.
